Activity 2. Who is the Memory King? (Say out the phrases quickly)

This is a petition betwee n groups: show the Chinese meanings of the phrases, and give them 45 seconds to memorize them,then have a petition to see which group does the best.

Activity 3. Exercises on the paper (Using the phrases)

1. Choosing the best phrases to plete the sentences;

2. Paraphrasing;

3. Translation using the phrase ]

Activity 4. Group work: Describe your favourite genius using word and expressions just learned.

Show Ss six geniuses (such as Shakespeare, Charlie Chaplin) and then an introduction of Charlie Chaplin using words and expressions just learnt.

(E.g.: Charlie Chaplin is my favourite actor. He is a genius. He has a gift for edy (喜剧) and many people regard him as the funniest actor. In his films, he acted so perfectly that he never let his audience down. Trust me!The more you watch his films, the more you’ll like him.)

After that, ask groups of students to choos e their favourite geniuses and practice after the example. Finally, invite some Ss to show their answers.

Through quoting some famous sayings from some geniuses about geniuses, the teacher leads students to realize geniuses are not born but made.

1. 通过给首字母根据句意补充完整单词,检验学生对知识点的掌握情况,锻炼学生的即时记忆即时应用的能力

2. 通过小组竞赛,激发学生的学习积极性,活跃课堂氛围;同时,通过限时短时记忆和检验,巩固所学知识点。

3. 通过运用各个语言点去完成句子、解释句子和翻译句子,让学生切身体会它们的用法。

4. 将课堂知识延伸到学生的现实生活,结合个人喜好,用课堂所学的知识点,模仿例子介绍自己最喜欢的天才。

5. 通过思考和讨论天才如何炼成的问题和如何把自己炼成天才,让学生意识到天才不是天生的,而是通过自身不懈的努力而炼成的。
